These include the acquisition of a 40% stake in German laser radar Ibeo in 2016, the acquisition of an approximately 45% stake in UHF radar manufacturer Astyx in 2017, and the cooperation with China’s BAT giant Baidu during the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, bringing APCOA and ChargePoint together The company has entered into a cooperative alliance of its automotive payment transaction platform... A ZF-led self-driving car R&D camp is gradually taking shape.

It has been more than two years since ZF completed the acquisition of US auto parts manufacturer Tianhe Automotive Holdings in May 2015. During this period, the integration of ZF and TRW has attracted external attention. Finally in September of this year, the latest progress was announced in this merger.

ZF said that it has already completed the integration of TRW in advance. ZF will then appear in the public view with a unified corporate image. Through the visual expression of the integration, all departments will achieve a unified image for the market and customers.

After ZF’s acquisition of TRW, the latter was incorporated into ZF as a new business unit – active and passive safety technology, but maintained its independence and brand. As for the later integration work, ZF expects it will take about three to five years to complete. Today, ZF completes this task in advance. Not only that, through the acquisition of TRW, ZF has mastered almost all of the key technologies for autonomous driving, and has taken a key step towards the future of digital traffic and autonomous driving.
