If you're reading this at your office, you probably don't have to look far to see the impact that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design has on the environment around you.
Take a moment to observe. How is the lighting in your workspace? Is the temperature just right — not too hot, not too cold?
These are just a few of the ways that MEP systems contribute to a comfortable and balanced indoor environment for building occupants. But the benefits go beyond comfort. A well-designed MEP system also plays a crucial role in reducing a building’s energy consumption and minimizing its carbon footprint, making it more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Recognizing the critical role of MEP in modern construction, Autodesk has formed strategic partnerships with global industry leaders to enhance the capabilities of Autodesk Revit, providing tailored MEP solutions that meet the specific needs of different markets worldwide.
One such partner is NYK Systems, based in Japan. They offer a product called Rebro, which is specifically designed for contractors and focuses on detailing, construction modeling, and documentation. As an Autodesk Solution Associate, NYK will help deliver a more comprehensive project lifecycle solution for the Japanese market, ensuring better integration and efficiency throughout the design and construction process.
Another key partner is Izumi System Planning, also based in Japan. They developed STABRO, an MEP design, calculation, and analysis tool. As an Autodesk Solution Associate, Izumi brings a BIM-centric workflow to MEP engineers and designers in Japan, linking modeling with localized system calculations, analysis, and design processes.
Then there's ALPI, a French company that offers Caneco BT, an electrical design solution for engineers and contractors. As an Autodesk Industry Partner, ALPI enhances the electrical component of Revit MEP by providing tools that align with regional standards and requirements, helping users create more accurate and compliant designs.
"These partners bring deep local expertise and understanding of their respective markets," said Gary Wyatt, Senior Industry Strategy Manager at Autodesk. "By working together, we can offer MEP professionals a complete BIM-based solution rather than isolated tools. This collaboration helps more people leverage BIM to create smarter, more efficient buildings around the world."
