Autodesk Dublin Demonstrates Its Entrepreneurial Drive With Rapid Team Growth

From the moment you step into the Autodesk Dublin office, you’re immediately immersed in a dynamic and energetic environment. It’s hard to believe that just over 18 months ago, this team was just starting its journey as Autodesk’s EMEA hub. The growth and success of the office have been nothing short of remarkable. Join our team in Dublin and come shape the future of making with us. We chose Dublin for its global business climate, access to top talent, ability to support European languages, and the high quality of life it offers. Over time, we’ve learned valuable lessons, but what remains clear is that Dublin is a vibrant, multicultural, and creative city—qualities that align perfectly with Autodesk’s brand and culture. In just 18 months, we’ve grown from a small team to over 230 employees. Today, we’re thrilled to announce the opening of an entirely new floor at our office on 1 Windmill Lane, doubling our capacity to 400 people. This expansion reflects our confidence in the team and the city's potential. Earlier this year, we hosted Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, and Minister Patrick Breen for our official new office opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. It was a proud moment for everyone involved. Dublin has proven to be a great place for international talent, and our team now includes over 30 nationalities working together to serve customers around the world. We’ve built a strong sense of community, welcoming colleagues from all backgrounds and ideas. Martin Gurren, a Client Services Director and site lead for Autodesk in Dublin, shared his perspective: “It’s been an incredible journey watching the team grow together. This office plays a key role in supporting both our EMEA and global teams, helping drive Autodesk’s mission to help people imagine, design, and make a better world.” Collaboration with IDA Ireland has been crucial to our success. Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, said, “Companies like Autodesk are drawn to Ireland because of the strong tech talent pool. It’s a testament to how quickly they’ve grown here. I congratulate the Autodesk team on their expansion and wish them continued success.” Andrea Reger, a senior recruiter at the office, leads our local talent acquisition efforts. Her team’s work was recognized at the Irish HR Champion Awards 2019, winning the award for Champion Talent Acquisition Programme. “Understanding the local talent landscape and ensuring a positive onboarding experience for all employees has been key,” she said. “Whether they’re from Ireland or abroad, we make sure they feel at home.” The HR team, led by Michelle Rogers, is driving a comprehensive employee engagement program focused on well-being, inclusion, and cultural evolution. These initiatives continue to evolve based on employee feedback and input. Read more about our culture evolution from CHRO Carmel Galvin. The Dublin office is home to a wide range of functions, including R&D, engineering, localization, technical support, client services, sales, finance, operations, HR, and recruitment. Many of these teams are set to grow further in the coming years. Additionally, we’re expanding our marketing and business development team in Dublin to support construction solutions across EMEA. Over 100 employees participated in the Dublin Pride Parade in July 2019, showcasing our commitment to diversity and inclusion. Autodesk is also growing a new Product Experience Lab on the newly opened floor. This space allows employees to experiment with Autodesk software, collaborate, and learn from one another. It’s a place where creativity meets innovation. The office itself was designed by Jenny Lum using Autodesk Revit, allowing her to visualize the space before construction began. Each floor reflects familiar Autodesk designs while drawing inspiration from iconic elements of Dublin, such as the River Liffey, Georgian architecture, and street art. Raphael Racine, Senior Software Engineering Manager, shared his experience: “Relocating to Dublin was a great opportunity both professionally and personally. Building an international engineering team and experiencing this amazing city with my family has been an adventure.” His team continues to innovate, leveraging emerging technologies like machine learning and Neural Machine Translation to develop new solutions on the Forge platform. With our continued success in Ireland and globally, we’re excited to expand the Dublin operation with more space and new talent. Attracting and retaining the right people is our priority, so we can continue to help customers solve complex design and manufacturing challenges—both in Ireland and beyond.
