Take those fuel-saving tips in motorcycle maintenance

What fuel-saving measures must be taken in the maintenance of motorcycles must ensure that motorcycles have good ignition performance, spark plugs must have enough strong sparks. Generally, the spark should be blue-white. If the spark is red, check the ignition coil, platinum, capacitor, and spark plug for problems or replacement. If spark plugs are used for too long, they should be replaced in time to ensure good ignition performance.

Air cleaners should always be cleaned to keep them open. Now, motorcycles often use paper core air filters. Women's scooters generally use compressed air or air cylinders to blow dust off the filter cores for every 500-1000 km. In areas with large individual dust, paper filters must be replaced. Knights are generally cleaned every 1000-2000 km. Neutral detergent is used when cleaning the filter element. After the filter element is dried, add a small amount of clean oil. Only a clean filter element can allow sufficient air to enter the cylinder to participate in combustion. If the air filter is clogged, the fuel consumption will increase exponentially and the exhaust valve will leak. If the intake and exhaust valves leak, it will cause the engine temperature to rise, power shortage, idling instability and so on. If the intake and exhaust valves or intake and exhaust valve seats are worn out, they should be repaired or replaced in time. After the repair or replacement, a leak check must be performed. When checking, the cylinder head is inverted and gasoline is added. There must be no leakage within one minute. Piston ring opening clearance is not more than 0.05 mm, otherwise it should be replaced in time.

The carburetor must have a good oil supply state. If the gap between the throttle valve and the seat of the carburetor becomes large due to wear, the air entering the cylinder cannot be used to atomize the fuel. It must be repaired or replaced in time. .

In theory, when air and fuel are completely combusted, the weight ratio of air to fuel (called air-fuel ratio) is 18:1. However, when the motorcycle is in actual driving, when the air-fuel ratio is 18:1, the fuel cannot be completely burned off. Only providing a part of air can make the fuel burn completely and achieve the purpose of fuel saving. Therefore, the general carburetor should be adjusted to an air-fuel ratio of 22:1 at medium speed. There are two kinds of measures that can be taken when adjusting the carburetor fuel supply: First, the oil level of the float chamber is properly lowered, and second, the position of the main oil needle and the concentration ratio of the carburetor are adjusted. When reducing the supply of oil, it is necessary to take into account both the acceleration and the maximum speed of the motorcycle. They should have a considerable level. The fuel consumption at this time is the most reasonable.
