Enhancing after-sales service Dana China spare parts center put into operation

Recently, the United States, Ohio-based Mami-Dana Holding (NYSE:DAN) announced that its new aftermarket spare parts center will be put into operation in China to increase the supply of spare parts, reduce delivery time, and meet the growing demand of the aftermarket. Located in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China, the center is Dana 's 17th aftermarket dedicated spare parts center, which will provide spare parts support for Dana's light vehicle, commercial vehicle and off-road product markets.

After full operation this month, Wuxi Spare Parts Center will first deliver spare parts for non-road products, and will increase the distribution of spare parts for light vehicles later this year.

"The new spare parts center will further strengthen our global distribution system to meet the growing demand for Dana parts in the market," said Pan Libo, president of Dana Asia Pacific. "Through the further expansion of our service network, Dana China's full-time team can provide high quality and efficient logistics support and distribution services."

In the past 15 months, Dana has announced a series of projects to better support Dana's vehicle manufacturers in China. In May 2011, Dana broke ground and set up a 12,000-square-meter technology center in Wuxi. The center, which is scheduled to open in 2013, will provide leading products and application services for research, design, development and testing of drive systems, seals, and thermal energy products, including electric vehicle battery coolers.

Last summer, Dana Corporation increased its stake in Dongfeng Dana Axle Co., Ltd. (DDAC) to 50%. Dongfeng Dana Axle Co., Ltd. is a joint venture company, headquartered in China, mainly engaged in commercial vehicle axle business. Headquartered in Xiangyang, Hubei, DDAC is a major supplier of truck axles for Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. Provides a full range of truck axles for the Chinese market, including drive axles, steering axles, through-bridges, and wheel-side reduction axles for light, medium, and heavy trucks as well as passenger cars.

In February of this year, Dana announced the mass production of the Spicer TZL series transmission in Wuxi, China. This series is a new power shift transmission for high-end loaders. The SpicerTZL16 gearbox is designed for a 17-19-ton front-end loader, which accounts for about two-thirds of the Chinese-made front-end loader market.
