Late on April 3rd, 2012, just after midnight, Tinley Park's emergency services were called out to a silo fire reported in the 7300 block of 191st Street, within unincorporated Will County. Truck Company 204 arrived on scene to discover an abandoned barn that had been fully engulfed in flames, spreading to an adjacent silo. Engine Company 202 quickly sprang into action, using their deck gun to douse the inferno while firefighters advanced three handlines to tackle the remnants of the burning barn and a smaller shed nearby. Mutual aid was promptly requested and received from neighboring departments including Frankfort, Mokena, Country Club Hills, and Hazel Crest.
Attached are some images captured by Karl Klotz during the incident. The first photo shows Tinley Park Engine Company 202 leading the charge as they maneuvered through the driveway. In another shot, you can see the aftermath of the fire, where little remained of both the barn and the silo. A third image captures Engine Company 202 utilizing their deck gun to knock down the raging flames. The final photo highlights one of the firefighters deploying a handline towards the back of the property to ensure the fire didn’t spread further.
Unfortunately, the full set of photos is hosted on my personal website due to storage limitations here. If anyone would like to view more, feel free to reach out or check there for additional visuals.

This version maintains the original narrative but adds a bit more detail and context, making it sound more like a personal account rather than a straightforward news report. It also extends the word count slightly above 500 characters.
