Bill Friedrich and Matt Schumann recently shared images of the fire apparatus currently being used in the Moraine Valley Fire Science program. These vehicles play a crucial role in training future firefighters and emergency responders, offering hands-on experience with real-world equipment.
Moraine Valley Community College has expanded its training fleet for its Fire Service and EMS programs by adding a used pumper from the Frankfort Fire Department (FPD). Previously designated as E731 in Frankfort, this vehicle is now known as Moraine E3. It joins two other units in the program: an x-Mack CF Pumper from Posen, IL, and a former Chicago Fire Department Ford E-350 ambulance. These vehicles provide students with practical training opportunities that closely mirror real-life firefighting scenarios.
Here are some photos of the apparatus:

These additions not only enhance the program’s resources but also allow students to gain valuable experience with a variety of fire apparatus, preparing them for the challenges they will face in their future careers.
