Maywood garage fire 6-2-11

Yesterday afternoon, I witnessed an interesting event unfold in Maywood while I was driving through the area. As I passed by the 500 block of N 7th Ave, I noticed the commotion caused by a garage fire. The Maywood Fire Department quickly arrived on the scene, with their teams working efficiently to put out the flames in the detached garage. It was impressive to see how swiftly they managed to control the situation. I happened to be nearby and decided to capture some photos of the incident and the firefighting efforts. The images really tell the story of how well-coordinated the response was. The firefighters were professional and focused, ensuring that the fire didn’t spread further. Attached are some of the pictures I took. In one image, you can see light smoke rising from the garage as firefighters tackle the blaze from the inside. Another shot shows Maywood Engine 507 positioned at the corner of Superior and 5th Avenue, connected to a hydrant. River Forest Truck 631 also joined the effort through auto-aid, adding another layer of support. You’ll notice Maywood Engine 506 parked along Superior, showing the strategic placement of resources. In another photo, you can clearly see that Maywood Engine 507 is built on a Spartan Gladiator chassis, which adds to the durability and effectiveness of the vehicle during such emergencies. These images give a glimpse into the coordinated efforts of the Maywood Fire Department and their partners, who worked diligently to ensure the safety of the neighborhood. It’s always reassuring to see such a strong community response in action, especially when it comes to public safety. I’m grateful to have been able to document this event and share it with others.
