Jilin Carbon Fiber Innovation Alliance was established

China Drying Network The inauguration ceremony of the Jilin Province Carbon Fiber Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and the opening ceremony of the high-tech carbon fiber and products industry base was held in Jilin City. Jilin Chemical Fiber Group Company became the chairman unit of the first board of directors.

According to reports, the alliance has a total of 36 member companies, including 23 corporate members, 3 scientific research institute members, 7 university members, and 3 members of relevant competent authorities. The establishment of the alliance aims to establish an effective new cooperation mechanism around production, research, and research around the carbon fiber industry chain, jointly solve the technical bottleneck problem that restricts the development of the carbon fiber industry, accelerate the transfer and transformation of technological achievements among alliances, and effectively improve the carbon fiber industry. The overall level of technology will promote the healthy and sustainable development of China's carbon fiber industry, form the overall advantages of the carbon fiber industry in Jilin Province, and realize the development of the Jilin carbon fiber industry cluster and the localization of high-performance carbon fiber and its composite materials.

The Alliance will rely on Jilin Chemical Fiber Group to build innovative service platforms such as carbon fiber technology research and achievement transformation, and organize member units to jointly tackle the key technologies of T700 and T800 raw silk and the large tow carbonization technology of 24K to accelerate the development and production of carbon fiber products. We will raise the level of localization of key equipment and cultivate a number of carbon fiber technology innovation teams. At the same time, we will provide strong support for the development of the carbon fiber industry, build a world-class carbon fiber industrialization cooperation platform, and improve the industry's independent innovation capability and core industrial competitiveness.

It is reported that Jilin Province carbon fiber industry technology innovation strategic alliance has been identified by the Provincial Science and Technology Agency as a provincial-level industrial technology innovation strategic alliance, and the carbon fiber and products high-tech characteristic industrial base has been identified as a provincial-level characteristic industrial base.

An impulse turbine is a type of Steam Turbine where the rotor derives its rotational force from the impact force, or the direct push of steam on the blades. 

The impulse turbine consists of a rotor mounted on a shaft that is free to rotate.  Attached to the rotor are a set of curved blades.  Nozzles then direct the high pressure and high temperature steam towards the blades of the turbines.  The blades catch the impact force of the rapidly moving steam and rotate from this force.

The Impulse Principle


The steam at high pressure enters through a stationary nozzle of a steam turbine, as a result the pressure of the steam is decrease and an increase in steam velocity.  As a result of increased steam velocity steam pass through the nozzle in the form of a high-speed jet. This high-velocity steam hit the properly shaped turbine blade, as a result, the steam flow direction is changed. The effect of this change in direction of the steam flow will produce an impulse force. This force cause the blade move, thereby the rotor will start to rotate.

The force applied to the blade is developed by causing the steam to change the direction of flow (Newton`s 2nd Law – change of momentum). The change of momentum produces the impulse force.

In the impulse turbine pressure drops and the velocity increases as the steam passes through the nozzles. When the steam passes through the moving blades the velocity drops but the pressure remains the same.

The fact that the pressure does not drop across the moving blades is the distinguishing feature of the impulse turbine. The pressure at the inlet of the moving blades is same as the pressure at the outlet of moving blades.
