In China, Volkswagen cooperates with three companies to produce new energy vehicles. Although the surface seems to be mixed, in fact, the public has a clear plan for how to develop new energy vehicles in the future.
“Volkswagen will adopt a three-step strategy in the development of new energy vehicles in China. First, gradually introduce domestically-made plug-in hybrid vehicles. Second, introduce pure electric vehicles. Third, introduce MEB platform and introduce customized electric vehicles.” Zimmer said.

According to the memorandum of cooperation between Volkswagen and Jianghuai, the two sides will cooperate in the development of new energy vehicles. The two sides strive to be within five months after the signing of the memorandum. A formal agreement was agreed and signed, but there is still uncertainty.
At the Paris Motor Show, Heizman revealed in an interview with Sina Auto that “Volkswagen will cooperate with JAC to produce cheap electric vehicles. The two sides are exploring smaller compact SUV products and more economical price ranges and what trademarks to use in the future. And the brand produces pure electric vehicles. Five years later, Volkswagen and Jianghuai may have new forms of cooperation. Currently, the main purpose is to pursue the speed of product launch, aiming to seize the market."
"In the future, Volkswagen and Jianghuai will jointly develop electric vehicles, while taking advantage of JAC's experience, technology platforms and suppliers," Heizman added.
For the technical planning of the product, Volkswagen and Jianghuai conducted in-depth discussions. But which markets will future products be placed in? Heizman believes: "This is mainly to see the sales of products jointly developed by Volkswagen and Jianghuai in the Chinese market.
