Lug-All Pre-Operational Inspection
Lug-All Come Along Ratchet Winch Hoists are renowned for their superior design and craftsmanship. These hoists are made from high-quality materials and constructed with precision, ensuring they provide reliable performance for many years. However, to maximize the lifespan of your Lug-All winch hoist, regular inspections and maintenance are essential. Inspection Checklist Before using your Lug-All winch hoist, it’s crucial to conduct a thorough pre-operational inspection. If any part of the hoist fails the inspection, it should be taken out of service immediately. Damaged hoists can either be sent to Lug-All for professional repair or fixed with replacement parts available through the Lug-All online store. Operation Inspection The Lug-All winch hoist offers three primary modes of operation: tensioning, backing off, and free release. To test the tensioning function, rotate the reverse lever toward the drum to engage the u-frame pawl against the ratchet teeth. Operate the handle as needed to achieve the desired tension. To test the backing off function, rotate the reverse lever away from the drum to disengage the u-frame pawl from the ratchet teeth. Move the handle until the u-frame pawl engages the main frame pawl spring. Applying additional pressure in the same direction will release the main frame pawl. Release the handle gently, allowing the load to lower one tooth at a time. To test the free release function, rotate the reverse lever away from the drum to disengage the u-frame pawl from the ratchet teeth. Press the trigger to hold the main frame pawl away from the ratchet teeth. Maintenance Some degree of corrosion is expected on Lug-All winch hoists used outdoors. Shafts and other moving parts can be lubricated with light oils or penetrants like WD-40. Regular lubrication ensures smooth operation. However, avoid applying lubricant to the strap of web strap hoists, as this could compromise its dielectric properties and damage the strap material. By routinely inspecting your Lug-All come along ratchet winch hoist, you can prevent unexpected maintenance issues down the road. While Lug-All winch hoists are manufactured to stringent quality standards, neglecting maintenance can lead to malfunctions. In severe cases, lack of maintenance might cause complete equipment failure, potentially during a critical task. Staying on top of inspections and maintenance not only protects your equipment but also safeguards you. It's always wise to take precautions and ensure your tools are in peak condition before use.
