The internal combustion engine refers to the manufacture of reciprocating, rotary, spark ignition or compression ignition internal combustion engines and accessories for mobile or stationary use. On the other hand, domestic companies are also threatened by potential entrants and industry alternatives. The threat of these two threats will not be too great due to the high threshold of funds, technology and personnel for internal combustion engines and accessories. In the face of fierce competition, the main countermeasures for domestic companies are mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and upgrading.

In recent years, the economy of China's internal combustion engine and accessories manufacturing industry has been operating well. Compared with previous years, the growth rate in 2011 has slowed down. The data show that in 2011, there were 478 enterprises with industrial scale (more than RMB 20 million yuan), and the total industrial output value was 1.490040 trillion yuan; the entire industry achieved a sales value of 14.5111 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.76%; and the total profit was 10.524 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.37%. .

During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, China will actively develop a low-carbon economy and enhance its capacity for sustainable development. At the same time, China has made international commitments to “further strengthen energy conservation and improve energy efficiency, and strive to achieve a significant reduction in the carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP from 2020 compared to 2005”. According to statistics, in China's primary energy consumption structure, internal combustion engine products consume more than 60% of China's petroleum energy annually.

It can be seen that the internal combustion engine products are both the source of combustion and the source of emission pollution. The entire industry will have a major historical responsibility and social responsibility in the national policy of energy conservation and emission reduction.
