On May 9th, the largest domestically developed BG2100 pavement cold milling machine by Zoomlion Road Machinery Branch was successfully shipped to Taiwan. Its national 863 project, the self-developed intelligent cold milling machine, has not only filled a domestic gap but also reached world-class standards, offering a viable alternative to imported models. To meet the rising demands for efficiency and performance in both domestic and international road maintenance projects, Zoomlion Road Machinery Branch Research Institute focused on breaking the dominance of foreign brands in the large-scale milling machine market. Through relentless efforts over nearly a year, the team achieved major breakthroughs in critical technologies such as milling power, drum structure, and parameter design. As a result, they successfully developed the BG2100 — the most powerful, heaviest, and most efficient cold milling machine in the domestic market. Equipped with a Caterpillar C-16 engine delivering 470 kW of power, the BG2100 weighs 39.2 tons and has a theoretical conveying capacity of 320 m³/h. Its robust design allows it to handle even the toughest pavement materials, making it ideal for both domestic asphalt roads and high-hardness recycled pavements overseas. In Taiwan, where many high-grade roads are built with recycled asphalt that requires strong milling capabilities, the BG2100 has proven to be an excellent fit. After a thorough inspection, a local customer was highly impressed and immediately signed a purchase contract. This success underscores the machine’s reliability and performance, further strengthening Zoomlion’s reputation in the global market.
