The Broadview Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 20, serves just under two square miles from a single fire station. The station once housed a collection of American LaFrance apparatus, and while the fleet has evolved over time, two iconic units remain. One is a 1982 Century Series pumper, and the other is a rare Grumman AerialCat tower ladder mounted on a low-profile American LaFrance chassis — a one-of-a-kind piece that stands out in today’s modern fleet.
Dennis McGuire, Jr. recently shared some great photos capturing the department’s current equipment. His collection includes two ambulances, two engines, the unique aerial ladder, a utility pickup, and even an X-military AM General Humvee, offering a glimpse into the variety of vehicles used by the department.
Among the images, one shows the fire station located at 2400 S. 25th Avenue, a modest but well-maintained facility that continues to serve the community with dedication. These photos provide a valuable look at the department’s history and present-day operations, highlighting both tradition and modernization in action.
