The Broadview Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 20, serves an area just under two square miles from a single fire station. Once known for its impressive collection of American LaFrance apparatus, the department still maintains a few historic units. Among them is a 1982 Century Series pumper and a unique Grumman AerialCat tower ladder mounted on a low-profile American LaFrance chassis—both standing as reminders of the department’s rich history.
Dennis McGuire, Jr. recently shared a set of photos capturing the current fleet of the Broadview Fire Department. His images include two ambulances, two engine companies, the iconic AerialCat, a utility pickup, and even an X-military AM General Humvee, showcasing the diversity of equipment used by the department today.
The photos also feature the department's fire station located at 2400 S. 25th Avenue. These images provide a rare glimpse into the daily operations and historical significance of this small but dedicated fire department.
Dennis's contributions help preserve the legacy of the Broadview Fire Department and offer a visual record of its evolving identity over time. Whether it's the classic American LaFrance engines or the modern emergency response vehicles, the department continues to serve with pride and professionalism.
