Working Principle
The Filtering Process Media filters, also known as depth filters, work by passing water through a thick layer of graded particles, called the filter bed. These particles can be sand, gravel, or other granular materials. The filtration efficiency depends on the effective size of the media and the water velocity through the filter.
Raw water enters from the filter inlet (1) and percolates through the filter bed (2). Suspended materials come into contact with the media particles and get attached. Clean water then flows through the filtration nozzles (3) and exits via the outlet valve (4).
As dirt accumulates in the filter bed, the pressure differential across the filter increases. When it reaches its maximum design value, a cleaning process is required. In automatic media filter systems, a pressure differential switch senses this and triggers the self-cleaning process.
The Cleaning Process
Cleaning is done by backwashing, where pressurized water flows in reverse direction—upward from the nozzles. This causes the filter bed to suspend, releasing the trapped suspended matter. The dirt is then washed out of the filter through the back-flush valve. In automatic media filter systems, the cleaning process is managed by the system's controller. When the pressure differential switch detects that the differential pressure has reached a preset value, it signals the flushing controller to initiate the self-cleaning process.

Company Introduction
       In 2002, Dawn Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. was established, a company specializing in environmental water treatment.
