Brief Introduction for Spiral Classifier

Spiral classifiers are essential in mineral processing, using the principle that different grain sizes have varying specific gravities and sedimentation rates in liquid. Fine ore flows through water while coarse ore settles at the bottom. These machines classify materials by discharging from the top, sending coarse material back to the feed and allowing fine material to exit via a pipe. The machine's base is made of channel steel, the body with armor plate, and the spiral shaft from cast iron, ensuring durability. Lifting equipment can be electric or manual, and there are four types: high weir single and double spiral classifiers, as well as submerged single and double spiral classifiers.

Spiral classifiers are widely used in closed circuits with ball mills for ore distribution, grading in gravity mills, and classification in metal ore dressing. Spiral Classifier - Working Principle

The ground pulp enters the tank from the middle of the settling area. The inclined tank contains the slurry classification sedimentation area. A low-speed rotating spiral stirs the slurry, causing fine particles to rise and coarse particles to settle at the bottom. The overflow weir is positioned above the bearing center, located under the screw shaft, and beneath the overflow end.
